“One thing I've valued the most from working with coach Joey is trusting the process. There are days when prepping for an upcoming meet were I doubt myself on performing well on the platform as a result of "accumulated fatigue". Weights in training that "should" feel easy end up feeling like RPE 9.5s, making me drop the weight and continuing on with the training. Most would say the program is not working and that they're getting weaker. Putting their blame on the coach and not realizing the bigger picture of the program. With Joey's guidance I've added 71 lbs to my total: 413 squat, 303 bench, and a 501 deadlift at a body weight of 130 lbs. One must trust the process and see the big picture from all the fatigued training days. Once that taper happens, boom! PRs!”
